Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or location entered into a search tool is sent to the outside company operating that tool. The provider processes the request and supplies its results. We do not keep a separate log of those terms.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email sent to us may be retained to answer it. We keep such messages within our organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Data We Gather Automatically
Loading a page can cause the servers to receive routine technical details about that visit:
- The IP address assigned to your device
- Which browser you are using and its version
- Your device type and operating system
- The pages you visited and how long you stayed on each
- The site that sent you here, if any
- Timestamps for each page view
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files placed on a device. They and analytics services help combine traffic information, such as popular pages and exit points. A browser can block cookies, although doing so may change how some site functions behave.
What We Do With This Data
Collected technical data is used only for site operation, analysis, troubleshooting, advertising, and routing a requested partner search.
- Keeping the site up, running, and loading quickly
- Sending your search requests to the right partner service
- Figuring out which pages people find useful and which need work
- Tracking down and fixing technical issues
- Showing ads that may line up with your interests
No Criminal-Record Data on File
This site does not maintain, compile, or sell a database of personal criminal records. It publishes general directions to Hardin County custodians, the Texas Department of Public Safety, and the Texas Public Sex Offender Registry. We are not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and visitor data is not assembled into consumer reports or files about third parties.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies supply the search-box functions. Their own privacy policies, retention periods, and sharing rules apply to data entered there. Review the relevant provider's policy before submitting a query because this policy does not govern its processing.
Links to Other Websites
Links to sheriff, court, state-agency, legal-aid, and search-service websites lead away from this site. The destination's policy then governs the visit. Read it before providing personal information.
Some advertising providers may use cross-site activity to select ads. That processing occurs within the provider's systems.
Who Might See Your Data
We do not sell personal data. Limited information may be available to:
- Search partners that handle queries you run on our site
- Analytics services we use to track traffic and performance
- Ad networks that place ads on our pages
- Law enforcement or government bodies when a valid legal order requires it
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable security practices are used to protect collected information. No internet system can be guaranteed secure, however, and we cannot promise that a breach will never occur.
Users Under 18
The site is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from a person under 18. Information identified as a minor's will be deleted when properly brought to our attention.
Your Data Rights
Texas residents may have rights under the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act, Business and Commerce Code Chapter 541, and consumer remedies may also arise under the Deceptive Trade Practices Act, Business and Commerce Code Chapter 17. Depending on whether an exemption applies, you may be able to:
- Ask for a copy of what we have on file about you
- Have us fix information that is wrong
- Request that we erase your data
- Opt out of certain kinds of data processing
Updates to This Policy
This policy may be revised. Any new version will appear here with an updated effective date, so periodic review is appropriate.
